Noelle Lambert lost her left leg in a moped accident in 2016. She was playing Division 1 lacrosse at UMass Lowell at the time. She became the first above-the-knee amputee to play college lacrosse and scored a goal in her first game back. She then turned to para track and field and at her first-ever meet beat the existing U.S. national champion in the 100m sprint. A 2x Paralympian with American records in the sprint and an Americas record in the long jump, Lambert also runs the Born to Run Foundation, providing prosthetics to children and young adults.
